Rich in tradition and heritage, Lucy Craft Laney High School, proudly bears the name of a woman whose life was a shining example of service and love to the youth of the community.  Today, the school continues to insure that all students entering, will leave with a useful and productive learning experience.

 

 Our mission is to provide the highest quality education so that all students continually acquire the knowledge and develop the skills and values necessary to become contributing members of society.

I believe all children can learn if they are appropriately taught by professional, knowledgeable teachers.  I believe the principal is the instructional leader of the school and that his/her leadership must  create a quality educational culture in which students learn.  This culture must be committed to helping all children achieve excellence by treating them as being intelligent and capable of doing challenging work.  I believe as students respond to the educational experience it must be the expectation that they will recognize that school is a challenge, a privilege, a responsibility, a right, and an opportunity.

 

The faculty and staff of Lucy Craft Laney High School will work together with parents, business partners and community to provide an environment that will enable our students to become lifelong leaders and responsible citizens.
