Wildcat Announcements

Save the date!!  Lucy C. Laney Class of 2016 Junior Night will be held Thursday, February 26th, 2015 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Information about Dual Enrollment, Armed Forces, Senior Dues, Senior Portraits, and more will be provided.

Eric Leon Marshall Memorial Scholarship is now available in Guidance for student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA or higher.  The deadline is May 15, 2015.  Click HERE or see Ms. Weaver for more information.
ASVAB retest March 10, 2015.  Any interested Sophomore, Junior, or Senior sign-up in the Guidance office or see your ROTC Instructor.  If you need ASVAB tutoring please see Ms. Weaver.

Morris Communications has launched a new civics initiative called ROAR: Renaissance of American Responsibility and is holding a written and video essay contest called "The Great American Essay Contest".  The contest is open to all middle and high school students with a top prize of an iPad Air2!!  Contest deadline is Friday, March 20th, 2015.  Click HERE for more information!


In 2015, Goodwill Industries will launch a Youth Board serving the CSRA.  If you are interested in submitting an application click HERE.  The inaugural year of the Goodwill Youth Board will run August 2015 to May 2016.

Attention current 10th and 11th grade students:  Augusta Technical College is hosting a Dual Enrollment Information Session for interested students and parents on February 25th, 2015 at 6:00p.m.  The event will be held at the Jack B. Patrick Auditorium.  Click HERE for more information.


The 2015 Psi Omega Scholarship Application  and Information are now available. If you have additional questions see Ms. Weaver in Guidance.


Georgia Military Scholarships are still available!!  The deadline to apply has been extended until March 1st.  The scholarship pays for four years of tuition, fees, room, meals, books, and uniforms at the University of North Georgia in the Corps of Cadets.  Detailed information can be on the Georgia Military Scholarship web page or see Ms. Weaver in Guidance.


Seniors interested in obtaining a two or four year degree can now apply for the Carrie L. Williams Pink Scholarship.  Click here for more information.


Now available..."Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship".  This is a $1000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Interested students can visit this link http://www.fashion-schools.org/ and find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page.

Also available, "Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship".  Interested students can visit http://www.animationcareerreview.com/ to find eligibility information along with the online application.

Tuskegee University will host the AgriTREK/SciTREK and AgDISCOVERY Summer Program for high school students that are returning to high school in the Fall of 2015.  Applications for both programs are now available online at http://www.tuskegee.edu/agritrek.aspx.  The deadline is March 6, 2015.  Any interested student can see Ms. Golatt or Ms. Weaver for more information.

FreeOnline ExPreSS (Exam Preparation for Science and Social Studies) will be offered by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) online to all high school students  and certificate of attendance recipients who were unsuccessful on or who have not yet taken the Science and/or Social Studies Georgia High School Graduation Test.
